There are some really important corporate secrets you need to know and I´m going to blow them wide open for you here to day!
Let me tell you about a woman who’s worked at a top three auto manufacturer – through several versions of the corporation – since she graduated from college. She’s worked there more than thirty years. Every day is torture. If asked “How many days til you retire?” she’s got a calendar in her bag.
“Less than five years,” she smiles. “That’s not so bad…really.”
Except for a few things. Her marriage, once pretty solid, is falling apart. She and the husband fight constantly, about everything. He’s up for a promotion, sort of, although he earns much less than she. But they both know he’s got to have the promotion. She’s got to somehow let go of the pension she’s worked for all these years…
I really want to tell her – and you – about the three corporate secrets they do not want you to know or you would retire right now…
Secret #1:
- With recalls, shady private equity intervention, and lots of irregularities cited by previously retired employees, how solid is the retirement plan anyway?
Corporate America has pretty much given up on the idea of a company-funded pension plan. There are too many frightening stories of disappearing pension funds…
And why, I ask, is someone she trusts telling her to take a lot less to retire now?
Somebody’s got to pay for the company’s mounting lawsuits…again. Thoughts about companies too big to fail keep me up at night because, just five years ago the nation’s largest bastions of wealth and power took government funds to stay afloat.
Secret #2:
- Even if your boss says “We’re considering you for promotion,” it’s unlikely.
The woman in our example has managed to climb a few pay grades in the past thirty years but she’s not considered management material. Her boss never said these words. In fact, during the last performance review, the boss said “There’s a job in Detroit that would pay you a few thousand extra. it’s a promotion maybe.”
It’s a promotion maybe?
Secret #3:
- How much money is your life worth?
Employees living with stress tend to develop serious diseases. Diabetes, heart disease, and cancer continue to rise.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) acknowledges the rising tide of autoimmune disease as Baby Boomers age. These one hundred plus diseases result from constant inflammation and the body’s mistaken attack of its own cells.
The woman in our example is managing several chronic diseases. She’s had two surgeries in the past year. And, even if her boss doesn’t have sensitive HIPAA-protected information about what’s physically the matter, he knows she’s not in peak form.
What would real control of your life mean to you? Is regaining health and peace in life worth the ‘risk’ of working for yourself?
Experienced working women have skills that are worth millions. Now that you know all the corporate bigwigs are keeping from you, isn´t it time you thought twice about what you can do with all you know?
Think of all you have to gain!
